I first met Janet the first day of our freshman year in 1974 at Lynn View.  She retained a sweet, unencumbered  innocence about her and was a good friend for all the years since.  She was there to take pictures at my college graduation, of our daughter Hope when she was born and later at her graduation.  she loved to take pictures.  She was there when my parents passed as well. When i was single we went to movies and shopping a lot.  We even went to Daytona with some other girls one year and had a blast.  Although life obligations and family meant we only saw each other sporadically in the last couple of years, i knew beyond the shadow of a doubt she was and always would be a true friend.  When first diagnosed with breast cancer, i asked her if she was scared--she said no--she would be going home to Jesus.--what a glorious epitome and epitaph for such a sweet person.  For the last 45 years, i have never seen Janet ever treat anyone unkindly or speak hatefully of someone.  I am lucky  and blessed to call her my friend.  i regret that with the recent passing of my husband as well as poor health myself that i did not reach out to her in these last months but i pray she knew i treasured the friendship of her  awkwardly sweet soul all of these years.  i send my sincerest condolences to the family.
