

Lynda Weaver Hilton, born July 4, 1949, passed away peacefully on her birthday, July 4, 2025, at her home. She was the wife of the late James Larry Hilton of the Indian Springs Community in Kingsport, Tennessee. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin & friend to many.
Lynda was a lifelong member of Indian Srings Baptist Church. She was a 1968 graduate of Blountville High School and attended Carson-Newman College & East Tennessee State University. Early in life, Lynda was a Girl Scout Leader, actively involved with 4-H as a counselor and then with her daughter & nephews. For many years, Lynda was a Red Cross Certified Water Instructor in Sullivan County, volunteering her time directing programs to teach children and adults to swim.
Lynda enjoyed clogging & dance for several years on a mother-daughter team with Louise Bailey School of Dance. The team travelled and performed in many events creating lifelong friendships.
Later in life, she worked as Medical Records Director at Indian Path Pavillion.
Lynda lived her life to the fullest, leaving a lifelong impact on all that she met. Her greatest joys and passions were to help her family and others. Lynda selflessly gave her love and energy to support her daughter and two granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James Larry Hilton, her parents Harry C. Weaver, Sr. & Dorothy Goodman Weaver, father-in-law, CT Hilton and mother -in-law, Florence Hilton, brother, Garry L. Weaver, & brother-in-law, David Price.
Left to honor her life include her daughter Jennifer Hilton; granddaughters - Jalyn Hilton-Abernathy, Judith Hilton-Abernathy; three special daughters - Collen Cox, Christina McCann, & Kanisha Bellamy; special son – Todd Godsey; Sisters - Judith (Judy) McKenzie(Larry); Rebecca Miller Jackson (Mike); several nieces & nephews; a very special nephew, Clinton Miller, who unselfishly cared for her for the last few years; sisters- in – law, Judy Weaver, Phyllis Robbins, Ellen Price; brothers-in-law, Lonnie Sampson (Louise), Ray Hilton (Donna), Joe Cole (Judy).
The Family will receive friends Thursday July 10, 2025 at Indian Springs Baptist Church from 5 – 7 pm with a memorial service to follow with Rev. Tom Schoeneck officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made in memory of Lynda Hilton to Indian Springs Baptist Church Mission Trip Fund.
