

Margaret V. (Mutt) Jones, age 82, of South Knoxville, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2013, after a long illness. She was a member of Meridian Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School class of 1950. Margaret was a linotype operator for the Kingsport Press for several years and also worked for Ideal Rubber Stamp Co. She was Officer of Elections, South Knoxville Ward and Treasurer for Boy Scout Troop 33. She was a member of the Leola Walkup friendship Class. She was preceded in death by her parents, William M Sr. and Minnie Johnson Vaughn; sisters: Georgia Lawson, Mae Perry, infant Bonnie Vaughn and Juanita Foulk; brothers: Willand Vaughn, Frank “Bill” Vaughn, John Vaughn and William M. Vaughn, Jr.; infant son Kenneth Anthony Jones and infant daughter Linda Jones.
Survivors include her husband of over 60 years, Kenneth “Casey” C. Jones; son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Phyllis Elder Clark Jones; granddaughter, Laura Elanor Jones; special sister-in-law, Maude Vaughn, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Berry Funeral Home, Knoxville, and on Monday, December 30, 2013 from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home, Kingsport. Interment will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
