

Norma Clawson of Blountville, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017. She was born in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Albert Lay, Sr. and the late Stella Rose Lay. She was also preceded in death by her late husband Charles Clawson, Jr., three sisters: Jessie McSpadden, Aretta Whitaker and Jannette McArthur; three brothers: Albert Lay, Jr., Harold Lay and Glenn Lay. Norma was a sales associate at Hamricks Department Store for many years and a member of West Colonial Hills Baptist Church. She spent much of her time enjoying the outside, either tending to her flowers or taking long walks.
Norma leaves behind to mourn her passing, her son Jamie Clawson of Gray, Tennessee; daughter: Linda Sand and husband Dan of Raleigh, North Carolina; sister: Bobbie Martin; grandchildren: Kaleb Clawson, Breanna Clawson, Jared Sand and Logan Sand; special friend: Bobbie Gilbert.
A funeral service to commemorate the life of Norma Clawson will be conducted on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Calhoun officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at East Lawn Memorial Park with her grandchildren serving as pallbearers. You are cordially invited to a time of visitation on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 12:00 P.M. until the funeral hour at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
