Stewart is proceeded in death by the love of his life, "Sally" Sarah Margaret Blair; father, Stanley E. Blair; mother, Annie Elizabeth Tate Blair; sister Beckie Jane Blair; and brother Terry A Blair.
He is survived by two stepdaughters, Elizabeth Fellers (Brian) and Sarah Jones (Brian); two granddaughters, Natalie Fellers and Katelyn Jones; his sister-in-law Cindy Blair; and several nieces, great nieces and nephews. Stewart also leaves behind his best friend of more than 20 years, Gordan Vandenberg.
Stewart was an Army veteran and was honorably discharged due to his mother's failing health.
The family would like to thank all of Stewart's friends, neighbors, and medical staff for their care and compassion in his final days.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 1:00 P.M. until 1:50 P.M. at East Lawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Todd Austin officiating. Interment will follow in procession to Gunnings Cemetery where full military honors will be rendered by the United States Army National Guard and the American Legion Post 3/265.
Because Stewart loved animals, especially his 2 cats, JoJo and Itty Bitty, the family is asking that donations can be made to the Sullivan County Animal Shelter, in lieu of sending flowers.
East Lawn Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Stewart Blair.
