Vickie Teresa (Hackler) Pruitt, 61, passed away during the evening hours of Wednesday (June 26, 2019) at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Vickie was born on July 13, 1957 in Kingsport, TN to David & Myrtle (Taylor) Hackler.
Vickie was a fighter and never once complained during her courageous battle with cancer. She enjoyed flowers, needlepointing, crafts, and cooking. Vickie was a loving wife, daughter, sister, and friend; she will be greatly missed.
Vickie was preceded in death by her father, David Hackler.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 43 years, Michael Pruitt; mother, Myrtle Hackler; three brothers, David Hackler, Jr. & friend Trish, Mike Hackler & wife Cherri, and Keith Hackler & wife Lori; special sister-in-law, Vickie Dingus & husband Roger; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday (June 30, 2019) from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will begin in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Bro. David Dotson and her brother-in-law, Roger Dingus officiating. Vickie will be laid to rest following the service in the Garden of the Apostles at East Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (1301 Medical Center Drive #1710 Nashville, TN 37232).
