Walter M. Ellis Jr.

Walter M. Ellis, Jr. age 72, entered into rest April 15, 2013 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Walter was born in Hawkins County and was a longtime resident of Kingsport. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Ellis; mother, Florence Ellis Charles; step-father, Frank Charles; grandchildren, Billy Ellis, Destany Ellis; grandparents, W.R. and Beulah Ellis; Emmanuel and Myrtle Phillips and brother-in-law, Enos V. Lord, Jr. Walter was retired from AFG with thirty eight years of service. He was a member of Stateline Baptist Church and had served in the U.S. Army. Walter is survived by his wife of forty seven years, Peggy Ellis; four sons, Tony Ellis and wife Andrea, Jeff Ellis, Billy Ellis and wife Amy, Michael Ellis; daughter, Cathy Cavin and husband Darrin; six grandchildren, Tiffany, Justin, Mark, Taylor, Corbin and Steven; brother Phillip Ellis and wife Eloise, sisters, Faye Smith and husband, Harold, Brenda Lord. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel with Revs. Eddie Whitley and Charlie Jarrett officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at East Lawn Memorial Park.
