

Ethel Louise Goode, age 90, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Friday, August 13, 2010 in Kingsville. She was born on February 23, 1920 in Bay City, Texas to Thomas B. Smith and Irma Turner Smith. Mrs. Goode was a member of First Baptist Church of Kingsville since 1938 where she taught Sunday school for many years and was a leader of the Girl’s Auxiliary (G.A.’s). She was known by the community for being an artist and loyal member and a past president of Playhouse of Design. She was an honorary member of the Womans Club of Kingsville.
Mrs. Goode was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Goode Jr., daughter, Susan Barbier, two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Sherry (Bill) Turner of Kingsville and Cindy (Steve) Williams of Olathe, Kansas; seven grandchildren, John (Ann) Turner, Julie (Abel) Garza, Jill (Randy) Moore, Scott (Sarah Grace) Barbier, Cathy (Troy) Dinges, Stacy (Ryan) Ginie and Bradley Williams; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Public visitation will take place on Sunday, August 15, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, 312 W. King Street, Kingsville, Texas with Rev. Ron Earley and Rev. Gary Bob Clements officiating. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
