Isabel F. Cantu

Isabel F. Cantu, age 86, a resident of San Antonio, Texas for the past 15 years and a former resident of Alice, Texas passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2011 in San Antonio. She was born on February 21, 1924 in Los Ebanos, Texas to Felix Farias and Virginia Gutierrez Farias.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jose Maria Cantu.

Mrs. Cantu is survived by six children, Jesus (Margarita) Cantu of George West, Texas, Irene Rogers of San Antonio, Irma (Mark) Davis of Houston, Texas, Gloria (Ruben “RD”) Rivera of Edinburg, Texas, Hilda (Edward) Mata of Kingsville, Texas and Jose Mauro Cantu of Alice; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2011 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel, Kingsville. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1400 Brookshire Drive, Kingsville, with Fr. Romeo Salinas as celebrant. Burial will follow in Alice, Texas at Collins Cemetery.

Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
