Mickey L. Wilson

Mickey Wilson, age 73, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away March 19, 2011 in Kingsville. He was born on September 7, 1937 in Weleetka, Oklahoma to Leon Wright Wilson and Lanora Spillers Wilson. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of American Legion - Post 185, Bishop. Mr. Wilson was proud of his 16 years of sobriety with the help of A.A. Mr. Wilson enjoyed woodworking, leatherworking, fishing, hunting, flying, gardening and especially lawn mowing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Lanora Wilson; and sister, Janet Short.

Mr. Wilson is survived by three children, Michelle (Serge) Smolen of Baltimore, Maryland, Kimberly (Javier) Guerra of Ricardo, Texas and Travis (Jessica) Wilson of San Francisco, California; ten grandchildren, Nikole, Michael, Alex, Kelly, William, Max, Dylan, Ava, Alina, and Violet; and brother, Fred S. Wilson.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. A private burial with military honors will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
