Salvador "Chayo" P. Lopez

Salvador “Chayo” P. Lopez, age 68, a resident of Bishop, Texas passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 in Bishop. He was born March 29, 1944 in Kingsville to Benigno Lopez and Alicia Puente Lopez. Mr. Lopez was a self-employed master mechanic. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Mr. Lopez was preceded in death by his father, Benigno Lopez. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Gloria Lopez of Bishop; son, Daniel (Cruz) Lopez of San Antonio, Texas and his children, Sara Lopez, Ben Lopez, Daniel Lopez Jr. and grandchildren, Ava, Keira, Deven and Alannah Lopez; daughter, Veronica Lopez (David) Salazar of Bishop and her children, Daniel Joe Salazar, Sal Salazar and John Salazar; mother and stepfather, Alicia Vela and Leonires Vela, both of Bishop; sister, Enedina Hannah of Virginia; five brothers, Ben Lopez, Leonires Vela Jr. and Jesse Vela, all of Bishop, Bobby Lopez of Chicago, Illinois, and Juan Lopez of Corpus Christi, Texas. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will continue at St. James Catholic Church, Bishop, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012 at St. James Catholic Church, Bishop. The family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to Becky and Melinda for their love and care they provided with Lighthouse Hospice Coastal Bend.
