

Barbara was born on the farm near Hubbard, Saskatchewan on May 31, 1942 to John and Emily Renkas. She was the oldest of three girls. She attended school in Ituna where she graduated from.
Barb married John Glushko on November 10, 1959. Together they raised three children: Beverly, Dolores and Terry.
Barb worked many jobs: waitress, seamstress and hair stylist. In 1976 Barb and John went into the hotel business, owning hotels in Wishart, Glenavon, Mossbank and Sturgis. Barb finally retired at the age of 77 years.
Barb had many talents: home renovating and repairs, upholstery, sewing, crocheting, cake decorating and any craft she put her mind to. She loved to garden, can her produce, bake, read and play cards (which she took seriously).
She was predeceased by her parents John & Emily Renkas; husband John Glushko; son Kenneth Glushko; son-in-law Daniel Hazell; in-laws: John and Sophia Glushka, Ron Tkatch, Anne and Vern Reick, Sophie and AI Freilich, Mike Zelizney and Helen and Zonnie Shawarski.
She will be greatly missed by her: daughter Beverly Hazell and her family: Shane and Melissa Hazell (Mackenzie, Mersadie, Sawyer and Savannah), Shayla and Robert Ogg (Adam, Emily and Ashley), Daniel Ogg and Danielle Mastel, Nicholas Hazell and Missy Harmsworth (Gauge, Jaxon, Blaze and Chloe) and Richard and Janelle Hazell (Crew and Briggs); daughter Dolores and Kelvin Hazell and their family: Michael and Melanie Hazell (Alexandria) and Ryan and Shanay Hazell; son Terry Glushko and Samantha Hoffman and his family: Ashton Wadham-Glushko and Jessica Wadham-Glushko (Oceanna and Micheal); sister: Jean Tkatch and her family: Shelly Tkatch and Debbie and John Sutherland (Bailey, Jake); sister: Adelle and Ron Kaczmar and their family (Aaron and Tomoko Kaczmar and Christine Kaczmar); special lifelong friend/sister Phyllis and John Mantyka....and many more cousins, nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention them all.
A funeral service will be held on Barb's birthday Saturday, May 31, 2025 in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Glenavon, Saskatchewan at 1:00 p.m.
