Darlene was predeceased by her husband Stewart Hourd; parents Clifford and May Jack; sister Evelyn and daughter Wendy. She is survived by her son Walter (Christine) and her grandchildren: Kristy, Nikki and Brooke.
Born on May 23, 1946, Darlene grew up in Manor, SK. In 1963 she married the love of her life. Together they moved to Calgary for a brief time before settling back on to a farm south of Kennedy, SK, where they raised their two children. Darlene was the steady support behind her husband as he built and ran his own business. Her kitchen often smelled of fresh baked bread and cinnamon buns made for her grandchildren. During the summers she kept busy by crocheting intricate doilies and expanding her cherished Occupied Japan figurine collection. In the winters, she spent time with her husband and friends in Arizona making the memories of a lifetime.
Darlene will be deeply missed by her friends and family, who will always treasure the memories made with her. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Stew. As per the wishes of Darlene, no formal service will be held.
