BATTERS - on Sunday, April 10, 2011, Elgin James Batters, loving partner of Joyce Parker, Kipling, SK. died at the age of 88 years. The funeral service will be held in Christ Lutheran Church, Kipling, SK. on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Janet Sigurdson officiating. Cremation with interment in Windthorst Cemetery. Elgin was predeceased by his parents Mary and James Batters; two brothers Bruce and Edward (Ted) Batters; one sister Lynn Strasdin and is survived by his children: Alan (Donna) and their family Benjamin, Lane and Hazel, Kipling; Shelley (Brett) Schutz and their family Jaida, Gracie and Halle, Carlyle, SK.; David (Kristen) and their son Nixen, Kipling; his loving partner Joyce Parker; three sisters: Bernice Soper, Nanaimo, B.C.; June Smith, Chilliwack, B.C.; Ruth Hopp, Victoria, B.C.; two brothers Laurie(Shirley) Batters, Oliver, B.C. and Del (Terri) Batters, Victoria, B.C. and numerous nieces and nephews.
