

Elsie was predeceased by her husband Laurence Kerslake and survived by their son Curtis (Barb) Kerslake. Elsie was predeceased by her first husband Jack Canute and their son Lyle Canute and survived by their daughter Isobel Byers, daughter Violet (Andy) Pasiechnik and son Mace Canute.
Elsie is survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Elsie was born on her parent’s farm near Landis, Saskatchewan. She was one of 15 children.
In the late 1930’s, Elsie married her first husband Jack, and moved to his ranch in the Big Muddy area. Here she had 4 children Lyle, Isobel, Violet and Mace. In the mid 1950’s, Jack and Elsie moved to the Big Beaver area to be closer to school for the children. After Jack passed, Elsie sold the Big Beaver farm and moved to Windthorst, Saskatchewan to become Wilfred Kerslake’s housekeeper. Here she met Laurence and they married in 1962. Soon after they had their son Curtis.
Elsie resided near Windthorst on the Kerslake family farm until 2012 when she and Laurence moved to Hayes Haven in Indian Head, Saskatchewan. Laurence passed in 2020 but Elsie remained at Indian Head until her passing. She will be fondly remembered by her family and friends.
A public graveside service for Elsie was held Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at Windthorst Cemetery, Windthorst, Saskatchewan.
