Evelyn was born to Clifford and Eunice Beddome on the family farm at Minnedosa, MB on March 3, 1927.
She received her public school education at Rookhurst and Hazelwood Schools. With the family she moved to Portage la Prairie in 1942 and upon completing a Business Course she was employed by the Portage la Prairie Mutual Insurance Company and at Porter & Diehl Law Office for some years. She then spent seventeen years in volunteer mission work in MB, ON and SK before settling in Kipling, SK where she was employed briefly at Fred’s Bakery and later as a Medical Receptionist at the Kipling Hospital.
In March, 1973 she married George Fisher and together they worked on the farm at Peebles, spending their winters in Rudyard Manor from 1990, then in retirement a few years later. They enjoyed 35 years together before George’s passing in 2008. After George suffered a stroke in 2005 and became a resident in Willowdale Lodge, Evelyn moved to Kipling full time. She cared for George in a very loving and special way, daily spending time visiting, reading to him and tending to his needs. Sometime after George’s passing Evelyn moved to Moosomin where she obtained a lovely suite in one of the new condominium structures. She resided there until her passing. In addition to her special friends at Peebles and Kipling Evelyn also enjoyed many special friends in Moosomin. The move to Moosomin also brought her closer to her youngest brother Glen and his wife Eileen enabling them to travel to see her on occasion.
Evelyn was predeceased by an infant sister Elsie in 1928, her father in 1979, her mother in 1985, her loving husband George in October, 2009, her brother Elmer in July, 2014, her sisters in law Theresa Beddome, Grace Johnson, Helen Buttimer, Mabel Fisher and Helen Fisher; her brothers in law Harold Johnson, Jim Fisher, Willie Buttimer and Albert Fisher; step-son in law Gordon Dayman in 2011 and step-daughter Christine Dayman in 2015.
