Grant Howard Ferch passed away on the evening of July 5, 2018 at the age of 80 years old after a hard fought battle to recover from a stroke. His battle ended in the Kipling Integrated Health Center surrounded by family.
Grant was born and raised in the Kipling area. After high school Grant served 5 years in the RCMP and was stationed in Vegreville, Alberta. It was here that he met his future bride Loretta.
Following his time in the force Grant and Loretta returned to Kipling to start their family on the family farm. Their farm experience included a stint with laying hens, sheep, beef, grain, dairy and finishing off with beef again.
Grant had many interests off the farm. He was very involved with the Moose Mountain Rodeo providing many volunteer hours and serving several terms as president. He made many cherished friends through his involvement there.
He loved many outdoor activities and in his later years he developed a real passion for fishing. He loved spending time with his fishing buddies. His life led him through many passions and he accumulated friends all the way.
Grant is survived by his son: Brett{Norma} and their children: Brittney, Braeden and Justin. Son: Ward {Carrie} and their children Skye-Lynn and Link, Sister: Joan Leggett, Brother: Kenneth {Cheryl} Ferch, Sister in law: Linda {Jim}Marsden, St. Albert, Brother in law: Michael {Audrey }Footz, Maine Island BC, Sister in law: Lesleah{John} Horvat, St. Albert, Sister in law Lorraine{Robert}, Vegreville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Norbert and Amy Ferch, his father and mother in law: William and Helen Footz and his brother in law: Ronald Leggett.
