Bentley Walter Swartzfager III

SWARTZFAGER Bentley “Benny” Walter Swartzfager, III, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the age 67 years in Orlando, FL. He was born in New Orleans, LA and graduated from Archbishop Rummel High School.

Benny leaves behind his greatest accomplishment, his children, Melissa Ann Swartzfager, Ashley Marie Swartzfager and Brian Henry Swartzfager, as well as the love of his life, his fiancé, Priscilla Summers Mallory, who brought him a lot of joy these past four years.

Beloved son of the late Walter Swartzfager and Mary Poche' Swartzfager. Brother of Kathy Britt (Mike), Ken Swartzfager (Donna, deceased), Gail Patterson (Mark) and Dr. Cindy Visot (Luis). He leaves behind aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Benny worked for Jefferson Parish Recreation and had a long career retiring from the US Postal Service. He was an avid LSU and Saints fan and served as a referee for middle and high school basketball and football both in New Orleans and Tampa.

A celebration of life will occur later this summer in New Orleans where Benny will be interred with his parents at Greenwood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Heart Association are preferred.
