

Gregory G. Rodeheffer brought a special kind of magic to all that knew him. His memory will stay in our hearts forever. Gregory was born December 8,1946 in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Public Schools in Michigan. After graduating from High School Gregory enlisted in the Air Force and served in Alaska. After his active Military service ended Gregory continued his education achieving an Associates Degree in Applied Science; Police Administration from Schoolcraft Community College. He was employed with the J. L. Hudson Company where he rose to the rank of Security Investigator until he retired in 1997. Gregory was a Reserve Police Officer for the Hamburg Police Demartment. He also served his community as a Volunteer Fire Fighter where he rose to the rank of Captain. Gregory was known by his friends and family as Gregg. Affectionately his police and fire fighter friends called him Rody and Buttercup. He retried from public service in 1997. That same year, Gregg following a dream moved to Orlando, Florida with his best friend Rose Marie Calus. He started a second career as a Security Host for the Walt Disney Company, retiring in 2009. He embraced the magic of Disney and created his own type of magic with all who came in contact with him. Gregg loved being outdoors, working in the yard, fishing and chatting with the neighbors. He was nicknamed McGuiver because he was always figuring out the impossible. He married his best friend Rose Marie in 2009. Together they lived their dream traveling, gardening and enjoying their companionship until he departed this life on May 25, 2011. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents Donald Rodeheffer and Evalyn Sherwood Rodeheffer. He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife Rose Marie; his sister Christine Rodeheffer Takei and husband Barry Takei of Fort Smith Arkansas; nephew Todd Takei and wife Michelle of Lexington, Kentucky; niece Terri Takei Mikel and husband Christopher of Greenbriar, Arkansas; His Brother William Rodeheffer and wife Nancy; niece Alison Rodeheffer of Southgate, Michigan; niece Nora Rodeheffer Adams and husband Scott; niece Abbey Rodeheffer of Laveen, Arizona; Mother and Father-in-law Edward and Pauline Calus; Brother and Sister-in-laws of Rose Marie and their families of Ohio, Michigan and Arizona; many cherished friends.
Celebration of Life Service was held at Grisson Funeral Home Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 7pm.
Arrangements under the direction of Grissom Funeral Home and Crematory, Kissimmee, FL.
A second Celebration of Life Service was held in Pickney, Michigan on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Noon
Hamburg Township Fire Hall, 3666 E M36, Pickney, Michigan
