Dearly Loved Louisa, "Precious in the sight of the Lord, is the death of His Godly ones" Psa. 116:15.  Barbara and I were truly blessed when Harlan contacted us approx. 10 yrs ago, and established a family friendship with us.  We're indebted to his love, acceptance and hospitality to us.  We were blessed to enjoy his company, fellowship, marriage and his toy (flight simulator).  We rejoice in the freedom and joy in the Lord that he has now but we miss him. Our deepest condolences to you.  I imagine Harlan is now free to fly and explore the "Great Beyond" with His Lord.  I will always remember how amazed I was at how much Harlan walked, smiled and laughed like my Dad, his cousin Hugh Barbe.  It was uncanny, as they had only met once I think.  It was a great privilege to know Harlan and he will be missed.  Blessings and prayers to you all.

Please accept our sincere sympathy at Harlan's passing. We remember meeting both of you at the First Church of God in Kissimmee when we came to Florida for the first of many winters. We fondly remember you both going out for breakfast, with the Sunday School Class each Tuesday. Harlan was our S.S. Teacher. He was always interested in people and always was encouraging. He always had a smile and a good word for you whoever you were. Our prayers and thoughts are with all of you.

Louisa, Janet & Nick, David & Connie, Doris & Larry, Grand & Great grand children, we share the fondest of memories with you. My first memory was spending 21 days at sea with Harlan in 1950. It was the first Christmas we were both away from our family. That is when I determined that Harlan would be a life long friend. I found that we shared the same views of Jesus Christ. Then when I met Louisa who later spent 21 days at sea with my wife, Shirley we added her as life long friend because she, too, shared our views of Jesus Christ. As each of you children came along, we shared the same vision which gave us an entire family of life long relationship. It will also be the same in eternity. What a blessing it was to serve our great country together in the US Air Force for over twenty years. We cherrish all of the visits, especially those unexpected ones when Harlan set on the Air Horn in our parking lot. We didn't have to gues who was there.

Harlan's consistently cheerful attitude and determination to remain faithful to his Heavenly Father have been a definite encouragement to both of us.
