James Gavin Taylor, but most of his family and friends called him Jim, age 89, of Kissimmee, Florida passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022. James was born November 19, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Ethel Taylor.
James served and is a proud veteran of the United States Navy. James worked his way through college while he was working for a steel company then after college he went to work for Weyerhaeuser and traveled the world. Later on James worked as an engineer for a paper company then he joined FEMA, helping out documenting disasters. Once he retired he joined the Merrill Garden Resident Council and enjoyed playing bridge as one of his hobbies.
James is survived by his son Gavin Lee Taylor; and his daughter Julianne Marie Emanoff; his granddaughter Chloe Ann Marie Emanoff and his close friend Joanne Jones and his beloved cat Coco.
James was preceded in death by his father William Taylor and his mother Ethel Taylor.
A visitation for James will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Grissom Funeral Home and Crematory, 803 Emmett Street, Kissimmee, FL 34741.
