

He was born in Paris, France on November 28th, 1922 to the late Lucie Gall-Bernot and immigrated to Queens, New York at the age of 11.
John attended MIT, graduated valedictorian of Georgia Tech and earned his Master’s Degree in Mathematics at Berkeley; teaching calculus at the Airforce Academy for several years.
John was a WWII Vet. He started his military career in the United States Army, then served in the US Airforce, retiring as a Lt. Colonel after 20 years of service.
In 1967, John and his family moved to Florida where he began his next career as an engineer for the aerospace program at Martin-Marietta, including Pershing 1 & 2, retiring after 20 years.
John was always active; he enjoyed, snorkeling, bowling, riding his “3 wheeler” bicycle daily around Good Samaritan Village and he even played tennis until he was 89! He loved playing games with his family & friends—Backgammon, Cribbage, Uno and Chess, which he played up to 3 hours at a time with his best friend, Lottie.
John helped others and brought a smile to the face of anyone he met. He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
John was married to his late wife Isolde, mother of his five children, for 28 years. He is survived by his Daughter, Annabel (Jimmy) Harwell, and their son Nathan (Nicole); John’s eldest son, Danny (Ruth) Gall, with their sons Cody & J.J. (Erin) and great-grandchild, Cadi; John’s daughter Michelle Gall, and her children, Elizabeth (dec’d), Alex & Christopher; John’s younger son, Robert (Awilda) Gall with their children Harold & Shannon (Damien) and great-grandchildren Adriana & Andres; and, John’s youngest daughter Susan Godoy and her daughter, Emily; also, loved like a daughter, Mary (Richard) Shulstad, their daughter Ashley, her boys Brendan & Corbin, Mary’s brother Harold (Caroline) McCarty, their daughter Jamie (A.J.) and their children Sam & Katie.
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Saturday December 5, 2015 at 11:00am at Good Samaritan Village Community Center, 1451 Hoegar Circle, Kissimmee, Florida 34746 *Attire: Casual, comfortable & colorful!
