

Omer Gordon Wilson Jr. passed away on Sunday, August 23rd, at the age of 71 at his Kissimmee, Florida home. He was a Navy Veteran of 22 years and 9 months during which time he served in Vietnam and retired as a Master Chief. He also served U.S. Customs for 20+ years. Omer was also a card carrying member of the Cherokee Nation.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather to his family. God, family, friends, and country were of utmost importance to him. This is evidenced as throughout his life he was always helping others.
He was a Royal Ranger Commander with the Assembly of God Church for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sports of all kinds. He was an avid N.O. Saints and LSU fan. He enjoyed listening to the "oldies" music.
He is predeceased by his father, Omer Gordon Wilson Sr. and his mother, Mildred Mae Wilson Sherman. He is survived by his brother, Alton; wife of 48 years, Patricia; son, Christopher; daughter, Elizabeth and two granddaughters, Sage and Morgan.
While our hearts miss him deeply, we know we will see him again in heaven. Grissom Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements. A viewing will be held on September 5, 2015 at 1:00pm with a service to follow at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Wounded Warriors Project or Cornerstone Hospice of Kissimmee in his name.
