Died peacefully at his home on Friday October 14, 2011, in his 78th year. Colin was predeceased in 2006 by his wife of 42 years, Elsie. He will be lovingly remembered by his son Kelly Pfeiffer (Catherine Cameron) of Kitchener, his step-children Fern Brenner (Paul), Carol Woelfle, Kevin Dombrowski (Linda), Donna Newell (Doug), and Stephen Dombrowski (Cathy), all of Kitchener. Loved grandfather to seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Colin is predeceased by his parents Milton and Sarah Pfeiffer (nee Gardener), his brother Arthur and his sisters Gladys and Ethel.
Colin was an avid sports enthusiast but was an especially devoted fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. He had a special place in his heart for the Senior Hockey League’s Cambridge Hornets, who along with his wife, was a season ticket holder for many years. Colin worked as manager for the Canadian Tire Corporation for over 30 years. He will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched and enlightened. Special thank you to his palliative care team: Dr. Ward, Sheila, Paula, Sarah, and Becky and to PSW, Jason. Their hard work, patience, and caring were much appreciated.
Visitation will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King Street West on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to celebrate the life of Colin Pfeiffer will be in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment of cremated remains will be at Memory Gardens, Breslau. In lieu of flowers donations to the Grand River Regional Cancer Center would best reflect his wishes. Visit Colin’s memorial and share condolences on-line at www.ratzbechtelfuneralhome.com
