It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our much loved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother on September 2, 2012 at Sunnyside Long-term Care Home in Kitchener at the age of 85.
Beloved wife of the late Andreas (2006). She will be immeasurably missed by her daughters, Maria and husband Walter Grupp, Elisabeth and husband Robert Coghill. Cherished Oma to four grandchildren Markus Grupp (Amanda), Thomas Grupp, Kyle Coghill (Sarah), Tyler Coghill (Emily Manning). Dear Alt-Omi to Max, Matthias and Nolan. Predeceased by her parents, Adam and Gertrude Brumm, sisters Regina Koch, Katie Brumm and brother Adam Brumm. She was a member of the Schwaben Club Frauengruppe and the German Club Einigkeit. Born in Yugoslavia in 1927, she fled to Austria after the war, where she met and married Andreas. In 1951, they left for Germany and in 1960, the family immigrated to Canada.
Elisabeth was a generous, strong, and hardworking woman. She loved gardening, dancing, cooking, baking, and travelling. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Later, even as her health declined, her great-grandchildren always brought a smile to her face.
We would like to thank the staff at Three Bridges, Sunnyside Home, for their compassion and superlative care, their humane touch and special attention given to Elisabeth during her stay. For their support and friendship during the last three years.
Friends and relatives are invited to the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel, 51 Benton at Church St., Kitchener, on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 12 Noon until the time of the funeral service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Woodland Cemetery.
Reverend Shirley Ruller officiating.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Sunnyside Foundation.
