Elizabeth Betty Catherine Merkley Zarzycki

ZARZYCKI, Elizabeth Catherine – Passed away surrounded by her family at St. Mary’s Hospital on January 21, 2011 in her 80th year. Cherished wife and best friend of Walter Zarzycki, with whom she spent nearly 60 wonderful years. Loving and devoted mother to 4 sons, Tom (Rose), Jim (Cathy), Dan (Pam) and Dave (Darlene) Zarzycki. Betty was the proud grandmother of Brandon and Amber, Dana and Robby and TJ and Troy and great-grandmother to Jessi. She is also survived by her sister Marie Hogg and brother Robert Merkley. She will be fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law, Mary Simon (Jim) and Helen and Jenny Zarzycki, and by the extended Zarzycki Family. Betty is predeceased by her sister, Dorothy. She will be remembered by the friends she made in her 30 years working at JM Schneider.

Betty’s family wishes to express their gratitude to the excellent staff at St. Mary’s Hospital 7th Floor and ICU for the wonderful care Betty received these last weeks.

Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. West, Kitchener, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Service celebrating Betty’s life will take place on Tuesday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the funeral home, with a reception to follow at the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre.
