Dear Seegmillers all,,,,I had just placed a call this past weekend to Del Wideman ,one of George's partners for Sportsworld endeavours and had intended to ask if he'd seen George lately but Del and Rita were out at the time. Not too long ago I'd asked Doug how his Dad and Mom were and asked that he relay my respects upon hearing they were both well.

Was very much surprised and saddened today to read his obituary under his smiling countenance in the Record . I met George when my firm was privileged with the task of designing ''Sportsworld".I recall first walking the site with George,a cornfield at the time for the most part, on a beautiful blue sky day in October in the early '80's .When I mentioned to George I figured there was likely a substantial Whitetail buck hunkered down in a bushy little draw on site I was proven correct when the deer ,sporting a significant rack of antlers shining in the October sun, burst from his hiding place in front of us . George then asked how I knew he might be there and then if I hunted at all.That led to many sojourns as George's guest to Griffith Island and we sure enjoyed wonderful hunts ,skeet shoots ,sporting clays , delicious meals,card games and pool games,lots of fun stories and 'hair races' to novitiates as I was as a first  time guest  by the big warm fireplace in the Club's leisure room .George often led the night time charge to count the Island deer at night with the aid of a 1,000,000 watt spotlight ,,,,never ever a dull moment in his affable company.
He was one class act, a true gentleman,one of fairness and integrity of honour and charity in conjunction with his profound intelligence all wrapped up in a great smile and abundant friendliness,I am truly honoured to have known his friendship.
Jean, your's is still the best Pheasant Pot Pie recipe ! George I am sure will find happy hunting in his new 'grounds'.
Much sympathy for the vastness of your family's irreplaceable loss with  your husband's ,father's ,grandfather's and great-grandfather's ,the family patriarch's, death .I know for sure you will all miss 'calling him' at home.

Last week Mom and I drove down Onward Avenue and she pointed out the home where you and George lived and where she and Dad lived 60 some years ago. She talked about how happy she and Dad were to have you and George as neighbours and how the relationship evolved into a very special lifetime friendship.
I told her this morning that George had passed away and she put her hand on her heart and expressed her sadness. She told me that she'd known George since high school. She then immediately expressed her sympathy for you.
George had a unique ability to make everyone smile. He was indeed a special man.

I will always remember the fun times at the cottage with George and Jeanne. We had so much fun catching sunfish and sleeping in his boat cabin at night. Well we really never made it through the entire night did we Diane :) As well as the fun family times we had swimming at the quarry. Thanks for the great memories.

Dear Jean, Doug, Jim, Diane, Edward and families...I can't tell you how saddened we are to hear of the passing of George. He was such a wonderful man and I will never forget all of the wonderful memories I have of our many times together. The Seegmillers and Kerrs were like family, and "Uncle George" was so loved by all. I will always remember his deep belly laugh, wonderful smile and undying friendship to my parents.He was and always will be a very special person in my life and I will truly miss him.He will have lots of stories to catch up on with Peg and Cal. You are all in my heart and thoughts, now and always.

George was a true gentleman.  As a young lawyer he treated me with respect that was far beyond my age and experience.  He imparted to each of his children his integrity, his compassion, his grace and his judgment:  perhaps his greatest achievements.  I will miss him dearly but he carries on through his children.
