

With great sadness, the family announce the death; in his ninetieth year, of Gordon William Lawrence on August 1, 2015 at Forest Heights Long Term Care Centre.
Mr. Lawrence was born in Trout Creek Ont. to Luella and Harry Lawrence. Raised in Kirkland Lake with his two sisters Betty, and Helen, he left at seventeen and a half years to enlist in the Royal Canadian Navy. He served for three years in WWII aboard the Corvette Owen Sound as a stoker. After the war he moved to New Liskeard Ont. where he worked for forty years as a stationary engineer. Mr. Lawrence was also a Mason, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 33.
He is survived by his wife, of almost 68 years, Gladys; and his son Harry and his wife Gillian, all of Waterloo.
In accordance with Gordon’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Gordon’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday August 6, 2015 at 10 am until the time of Gordon’s memorial service in the chapel of the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener at 11 am.
