Irene Louise Kieswetter

(September 18, 1924)

Suddenly yet peacefully passed away at Twin Oaks nursing home of Maryhill on Wednesday, September 26th , 2012 at the age of 88. Loving wife of late Jerome Kieswetter. Predeceased by brothers Arthur, Albert, George, Douglas, John and sisters Helen and Edith. Beloved mother of son Johnny Kieswetter daughter Evelyn and husband George Lackie. Treasured grandmother of Kristin and Heather Lackie, and adored by great-granddaughter Arianna. Member of the Ladies Auxillary of Waterloo Region Branch #530 Waterloo. Irene will be remembered for her zesty attitude and generous heart that was larger than life.

A wife, a mother, a grandma too,

This is the legacy we have from you.

You taught us love and how to fight,

You gave us strength, you gave us might.

A stronger person would be hard to find,

And in your heart, you were always kind.

You fought for us all in one way or another,

Not just as a wife not just as a mother.

For all of us you gave your best,

Now the time has come for you to rest.

So go in peace, you've earned your sleep,

Your love in our hearts, we'll eternally keep.

Visitation will be held at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel, 51 Benton St. Kitchener on Saturday October 6th, 2012 from 11:00am until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund would be appreciated.
