Jean was born and raised in Elmira Ont. and spent her adult life in K-W. It was love at first sight for Jean when she met a baseball player named Gordon T. Ariss. They married in January of 1952 in Kitchener, where they raised their family of five children in an atmosphere of love and respect. Their 60 year devotion to each other remains an inspiration to their children. Jean treasured her family above all else and spent her life caring for and nurturing those around her. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, a busy homemaker, a gracious hostess, and an avid gardener. She was happiest in her kitchen baking cookies with her grandkids. Jean was truly a beautiful woman, from the inside out. Her kindness, generosity and her wonderful smile will be missed by all those who loved her.
She leaves behind the love of her life, Gord Ariss, her children Janelle (Dave Zettel) John (Kate Cosgrove) Robert (Joan Peever) Jackie (Roger Barbosa) and Chris (Rob White). She will be missed by her grandchildren Kelly (Matt Gazzola) Andrew (Julie Spires) little Janelle, Joshua, Jacob, James, Lucas, Gordie, Teagan, Emily, Abby, and Grace and her Great Grandchildren Ty, Sam, Sophie, Lily, Ariss, Bruno, and Francesca.
Pre-deceased by her parents Rose Rau and John Zinger, her sisters Marie, Helen and Rita and her brother Leonard.
