My dear friend, Kathy:

Although it is difficult to accept that your beloved Dad is no longer here for you to enjoy his presence, you are certainly comforted by the knowledge that his life was, indeed, a life well-lived.  Thank you for inviting me to the fun dance evenings at Terrace where you and I danced with your Dad, and your brother, Jim.  I was always surprised that your Dad not only remembered my name, but called me "Gloria In Excelsis Deo"....loved that twinkle in his eye, and his happy smiles when he looked at his lovely daughter, Kathy.  Jerome and Theresa would have been so pleased and proud to see you and Mark and your lovely Ted, Julie and John honour them in a most loving and respectful manner.

Dear Kathy and Mark,  Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time of mourning.  Although I never met your father, I feel as if I know him through you.  If he was anything like you, he was fun loving, happy and full of pride for things he loved!  I am sure your father will be missed by his community and by you. Sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad.  He will always be fondly remembered to me as the "plantation owner".   He is now with your mom "hot coral lips".   Sending you and your family our condolences.  Cherish the memories and celebrate his life.  Take care.

I hope he was able to get to his beloved cottage this year before he passed on.

He is now reunited with your Mom.  He has even likely run into my Dad.  Maybe they've even watched a hockey game together!  I hear the Bruins never lose a game in heaven.

Dear Tom, Jim, Elizabeth and Kathleen,

Sorry to read about your father's passing.  He led a good life as a father, husband and contributor to his community and church. He was also a good neighbour to my Mom and Dad. 

The last time I spoke to Jerome while he was at Freeport recovering from a fall,he never complained about his situation and always had a smile on his face. In many ways he  set a good example for all of us to follow.

Dear Liz and family. We are very sorry to learn of your loss.  Such a nice man -- always friendly and smiling.  We hope you will take comfort in your memories and knowing he is at peace.  Our sincerest condolences,

Our sincere condolences Elizabeth, Stephen, and family. Although we didn't know Jerome personally, my mother is prettysure my father and her both did. My sisters had some Kieswetters in their classes too. May you relish sweet memories, and celebrate a wonderful life led. We have made a donation to honour Jerome's memory. St. Agnes is the same church my kids made their First Communion and had their Confirmations.

I only met him a few times but felt we were friends from the first meeting. He raised a good daughter, who I know loved her parents very much. Through her I can tell he was a good man. Sincere condolences to all of you.

Dear Tom and Kieswetter family,

My thoughts are with you at this very sad time.  May your memories and knowing that your dad had a good life and many friends bring you strength and comfort.

I am sorry my hope for a visit with your dad at the cottage a couple of weeks ago didn't come to be.  Like Karl, I will remember his signature drives with open window and cigar in hand, and I will miss the occasional aroma wafting down to my dock.

I also have the fond memory of my mom's story.  She worked for Kieswetter's Excavating years ago when she was expecting me, and they kept asking her to stay for "just a few more days" with the promise that if she went into labour at the office they would put her on a float and get her to the hospital right away!  She finally put her foot down saying "Friday is absolutely my last day."  I was born on Monday.

Unfortunately, I am in Kingston and will not e able to make it to the visitation / funeral, but know I am thinking of you.

Dear Kieswetter Family

Please accept my sincerest condolences at the death of Jerome. I'm sorry for your loss.

Jerome was a fine man and a great neighbour. 

For years, he was always available with a helping hand and I particularly enjoyed the talks we had about his favourite hockey team, the Boston Bruins. I will never forget his signature slow drives up and down the driveway with his window open and his cigar in hand.

I will miss him. 

I will keep him and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
