Arthur Jones

Arthur “Ottie” or “Art” Porter Jones, Jr. age 73 of Knoxville, TN passed away July 7, 2025. Arthur proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1974-1982. He was an Electronics Technician First Class (Submarine)on the U.S.S. Simon Bolivar SSBN-641 and was part of the “41 for Freedom”. Following his service he worked at the U. S. Post Office until retirement. Ottie was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Juanita Jones; sister Jo Anna Bivens and niece, Misti Bean. For 31 years Art shared a strong and loving marriage with his wife, Teresa Jones. He loved being a 2nd dad to Carisa and Bryan (Angela) and a grandfather to Alleeyah, Brysen, Rogan and Jurnee. Ottie leaves behind his siblings, Teresa (Dwight) Swango , Nita (Steve) Ritter, Cheryl (Danny) Lynn, Richard Timothy Jones; 19 nieces and nephews and 23 great-nieces and nephews. Ottie loved his family and everyone loved him. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Sunday at Weaver Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 am Monday at East Tennessee Veteran Cemetery on Gov. John Sevier Hwy. For a 10 am military service. Condolences are welcome at www.weaverfuneralservices.com
