Betty Jane (Heinz) Rutherford, age 97 of Knoxville, passed away May 1, 2026. Betty was born in Knoxville, September 8, 1928. She was a Secretary in the insurance industry, the Pianist at both Cumberland Baptist Church and Valley Grove Baptist Church, and a renowned marimba musician. Preceded in death by spouse William Boyd Rutherford Jr.; father, Charles Earnest Heinz and mother, Katharine Jane Deaver; siblings, Charles Jr., Billie, and Henry. Survived by daughter, Brenda Rutherford; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be May 10 at Weaver Funeral Home from 2:00 to 3:00 pm with the service to follow at 3:00 pm. Internment will be Monday, May 11 at Highland Memorial Cemetery, 4301 Sutherland Avenue Knoxville at 1:00 pm.
