Billy H. McCulley, age 90, of South Knoxville, passed away at his daughter’s home surrounded by family. Billy was a 1949 graduate of Young High School where he excelled in football as well as other sports. He played football for University of Tennessee his freshman year and then he joined the US Air Force during the Korean War. After returning from the war, Billy went to work for an insurance company and then later for the US Postal Service where he retired after many years of service. After retirement, he worked for Berry Funeral Home assisting many families with making pre-arrangements. Billy was a member of Meridian Baptist Church. He served as a music director for many area churches. Billy was an avid golfer and loved to travel. He was a loving father and husband and will be missed greatly. Preceded in death by parents, Benton and Mary Lou McCulley and son, Hugh McCulley; brother, Carl McCulley and sister, Shirley Taylor. Survivors include loving wife of 67 years, Betty McCulley; daughter, Lynn Zorn; grandchildren, Christy Zorn, Kevin Zorn and David Zorn (Maria); great grandchildren, Hugo and Isabel Zorn. Friends may drop by Berry Funeral Home on Monday, January 18, 2021 between the hours of 12 noon and 4 PM to pay their respects.
