Bobbie J. Thomas, age 82, of South Knoxville, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, August 4, 2018. She was of the Christian faith. Bobbie was an avid reader, loved to crochet, knit and make handmade quilts for her family and loved ones.
She is survived by children, Robin Geldrich (Butch), Kelly Braden, Dr. H. Dan Thomas (Beth); grandchildren, Steffanie G. Campbell, Jacob Geldrich (Brooke), Mary E. Duboise (Jason) and Rachel Thomas; great-grandchildren, Sydney Geldrich, Kaitlyn Campbell, MacKenzie Geldrich, Riley Geldrich and Porter Wade Geldrich; brother, Col. Sam Lyles (Wanda); nephew, Scott Lyles (Katie); great-nephew, Travis Lyles and great-niece, Amanda Lyles. Preceded in death by husband, Herbert Thomas; parents, Freeman and Mildred Lyles; son-in-law, Wade Braden. The family would like to thank mother’s special neighbors, the Ali family and Dana Booten; University of Tennessee Hospice Services and First Light Home Care, as well as the Knoxville area emergency response teams.
Per Bobbie’s request, the family will have a Call of Convenience on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway. Family and friends will meet for a graveside services at Woodlawn Cemetery on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11:00 am.
