Bobby Lee Nations, age 88, passed away peacefully at his Seymour home on April 5, 2022, with his wife and children by his side. Bobby was born to Homer and Marianna Nations in Greer, South Carolina and grew up in South Knoxville. After graduating from Young High School in 1951, he served his country in the United States Air Force. He graduated from the University of Tennessee and spent his career teaching high school math for Knoxville City Schools. He was a long-time member of Valley Grove Baptist Church and loved to share his faith with others. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Ray Nations and infant son Michael. Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn; his children David (Terri) Nations, Beth (Kenny) Armstrong and Laura (Rick) Tilley; grandchildren Josh (Amanda), Emily (Travis), Ryan, Nickolas, Zackery; six great-grandchildren; sister Ann Schmittou and brothers Jim and David. The family would like to thank Avalon Hospice for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Valley Grove Baptist Church's Mission Fund. Bob's family welcomes friends for a Visitation on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Berry Highland South from 2pm-4pm with a Funeral Service to follow at 4pm. Friends and family will meet at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Monday, April 11, 2022, at 8:15am for an 8:30am Graveside Service.
