Carol grew up in Mascot, TN attending Mascot School and then Carter High School. She was a lifelong member of Mascot Baptist Church. Her first job was at Cardin's drive-in where she met the love of her life and best friend, Bill Nichols. They married on October 8th, 1970, and lived on Palmer Lane in East Knox County for the remainder of her life. She was most proud of her children, grandchildren and close family and friends who all loved her dearly.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, Albert and Betty Hart her in laws, Keith and Bobbie Nichols, and her brothers-in-law Bill Butler and Jerry Nichols.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Bill Nichols; daughter, Deana “Nikki” Watson (Danny); son, Chris Nichols (Abby) and her five grandchildren Nathan (Alyssa), Halle, Cooper, Landon, Leah and Emma. Her sisters Vivian (Jimmy) and Susan (Herb). Her brother-in-law Eddie Nichols (Carla) and several nieces, nephews and cousins including Karen Hancock, Missy Browning (Wayne), Scott Cate (Lynn), Lorissa Brooks (Cory), Katie Hodges (Nick), Donna Watson (Jason), Jake Tate (Ashley), and son-in-law Len Watson. And special friend Mary Card.
Family and friends will gather to honor the life of Carol at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Asheville Highway, Knoxville, TN 37924, on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025, with a visitation from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. There will be a private burial service at Eastview Memorial Gardens, 1320 Andrew Johnson Highway, Knoxville, TN 37817. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Shriners Hospital or Mascot Baptist Church.
