Charles Hampton Lewis, age 92, of Corryton, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025. He was a longtime member of New Antioch Baptist Church where he taught sunday school for over 40 years. He loved to keep busy, always working with his hands. Charles was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Preceded in death by his loving wife, Geneva Lewis; sons, Richard and Ronnie Lewis; parents, Jessie and Nettie Lewis.
He is survived by his sons, Kenny (Arlene) Lewis and Steve (Judy) Lewis; grandchildren: Kenda, Joy, Jennett, Matthew and Mendy; great-grandchildren: Ava, Lillie, Gracie, Caleb and Anna; and sister, Mary Owens.
Family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at McCarty Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Asheville Hwy, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM, Rev. Clayton Dunsmore officiating. Family and friends will proceed to Roseberry Cemetery for interment following the funeral service.
