Charles Edward Maples

Charles Edward (Ed) Maples, age 88, of Knoxville, passed away on November 20, 2016. He was a member and deacon of Stock Creek Baptist Church and retired from General Broadcasting Company. Ed was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Edward Maples. He is survived by his Young High School sweetheart and wife of 68 years, Betty Jeane Straine Maples; children, John (Cathy) Maples, Melissa (Jim) Johnson, Melanie (Randall) Harris, all of Knoxville, and Dr. Maria Maples of Nashville; grandchildren, Brad (Lindsay) Johnson, Sarah (Joshua) Sagraves, Megan (Matthew) Talley, Seth (Bethany) Maples, Stephen Maples, Elijah (Hannah) Harris, Gabriel (Destiny) Harris, and Samuel Harris; great-grandchildren, Mason, Braden, Caroline, Peter, Oscar, Myles, Lincoln, and Adalyn. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 11:00 am at Stock Creek Baptist Church, followed by the interment in the church cemetery, with Pastor Buddy Johnson officiating. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stock Creek Baptist Church, 8106 Martin Mill Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920.
