Lane, Collin Joseph, age 8, earned his angel’s wings on January 18, 2013. Collin (lovingly nicknamed Lovebug, Dollin, Sugar Bear, and Colberry) was born on March 30, 2004, in Terre Haute, Indiana. He most recently attended Jefferson City Elementary School in Jefferson City, Tennessee. He was a kind and helpful third grader who loved fishing, camping, swimming, music, dancing, playing with his little sister Jazzy, and especially loved cuddling. He and his brother Joshua, who were just a year and a few days apart in age, were like two peas in a pod, especially when they played video games together. His little sister Jazzy (6) and big brother Preston (11) earned their wings on September 10, 2012, but Collin had more work to do in this world. After spending months spreading love, patience, and reminding us that every day is a gift, Collin now holds Preston’s and Jazzy’s hands on his journey. Brother Joshua stays behind with his worldly family. Parents: Danielle Lane, of Tennessee, and Chad and Lynette Lane, of Alabama. Grandparents: Sam and Susan Lane of Indiana and Beverly Evard of Tennessee. Aunts and uncles: Carrie and Josh Pritchett, Jason and Faith Lane, Derek Carson and Wendy, Jay and Missy Davidson, Sheila and Mark Wright. Cousins: Anden, Brynlee, Charity, Hope, Dylan, Caleb, Martika, and Prometheus. Special family members: Nicole, Jamie, and Donald Storey; and the Hackett Family. Special friends: Nakeyia Clark and Stephanie Myers, as well as the loving nurses, therapists, and doctors at the UT Medical Center PICU. He sends lots of hugs to his other family members and friends, especially those from school, Jefferson City Christian Church, and his neighborhoods. The family will receive friends on Wednesday January 23rd from 4-7 PM with a Celebration of Life, conducted by Rev. John Emmert, to be held at 7:00 PM at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home. On Saturday January 26th, the family will receive friends from 9-11 AM with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11:00 AM at Fitzpatrick Pearce Funeral Home in West Terre Haute, Indiana. The interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.mccartyevergreen.com
