Dewey Eugene White

Dewey Eugene White, age 90, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, March 24, 2023. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War and retired after 33 years as a truck driver. Dewey was a member of Norwood Church of Christ. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, listening to country music and spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren. Dewey loved to tinker in his garage and was an avid UT Vols fan. His sense of humor and generosity will not be forgotten.

Dewey was preceded in death by his parents, John R. White and Mary Ruby White; grandchildren: Dorothy White and Spencer White; great-grandson, Keygan Reese; former wife, Mildred L. White; sister, Mildred Barr; brother-in-law, William "Bud" Barr; brothers: David White, Noel White and nephews, Gary Eugene Hoskins and John Arthur "Buddy" Barr.

He is survived by daughter, Charlene White; sons, Darryl R. White, Scott A. White; grandchildren: Jonathan Johnson, Kelley Johnson, Marlo Madejek, Alexis (Christopher) Hinshaw; great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Johnson, Noah (Alayni) Johnson, Kobe White, Kaydence Mora, Joseph Johnson, Ashley Johnson, Sara Hinshaw, Kylie Hinshaw; great-great grandchildren: Lyla Johnson, Levi Johnson, Linley Johnson, Haley Tisdale; sister, Dixie Lee Mayton; brother, Steve (Lynnda) White; nieces: Kim (Bob) McGimsey, Wendy (Barry) Compton, Sunny White, Sarah (Sean) McCoy, Laura (Jason) Nowling; nephews: Stephen (Chandra) Mayton, Greg (Glenda) White, Jeff (Debbie) White, and "grand-dog" Butters.
