Dearest Donna... you are such a beautiful Soul! One of the most caring and giving I have ever met! I love you and want to thank you for all that you have done for me, in the time I was blessed to have known you. I am heartbroken that you are no longer down here, with us. My heart especially breaks for your family, who I know must miss you so terribly, every day. My prayers are with them. While I am just learning about your passing many years later, I still remember the first time I met you. You were very welcoming and very kind to me. I will never forget that. I hope you found the peace you so longed for. 

I just received the sad news that my old friend DJ passed away.  We worked together at UT Hospital years ago, while I attended UT, and we kept in touch since then.  DJ was as kind, sweet, and caring a person as anyone I have ever met.  She was a very special person, and I am proud and happy to have known her.

I am grateful for DJ because she was a loyal friend to my mother Judy Johnson for more than 20 years. She was always a  very sweet lady,  and I'm glad to have known her. My deepest sympathy goes out to her family during this difficult time.

Miss Struck, I was very lucky to gave had you in my life. You become a very dear friend if mine. I can say that you were the sweet caring and fun. I thank u for everything that you taught me while I was in nursing school. Love u and I will miss y dearly. May God bless you.

I went thru Nursing School with DJ and we stayed in touch, off and on throughout the years. Regrettfully, I had not talked with her in several years. She has always been in my heart and thoughts.  I always think of DJ as a free and pure spirit, who always stood by her beliefs and would take a stand for the rights and liberties of herself and others. She was one of the kind and gentle souls, which walked on this earth. I am so glad I had priviledge of knowing her.  We both chose to spend the majority of our career in psych and were able to stay in touch, this way. But, during nurses training, hands down, the memory of DJ and Terry's, being campused for the weekend of Easter, I believe, for a "ring around the bathtub", is by far the best and the funniest! I met D.J. at the Pen about 15 yrs ago and what trip it has been over the years.  We had plans for her to come to my house the day she died - instead I got a phone call telling me she died.  I will miss her frequent phone calls, her great sense of humor, her caring ways and so many other things. Hey "dog woman"  I love you.

I had the pleasure of knowing Ms. Strunk for a short semester as my Psych instructor at LMU. She had such a warm spirit, and I truly will miss her. The Strunk family will continue to be in my prayers throughout this difficult time. May God bless and keep you all.

I wish I had known about this a few days ago. I just found out this morning and it is such sad news! Ms. Strunk was one of my professors at LMU, class of 2010. She was a wonderful teacher and she made such a difference in our lives. She will be greatly missed. WE LOVE YOU MS STRUNK!!!

I went to nursing school with DJ at Fort Sanders hospital and we were very close friends for many years after graduation. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding. She was probably the most unique person I have ever met. She was kind and funny and loved her books. We lost touch over the years but I will always treasure our friendship and the wonderful times we shared. God Bless you my precious friend. Rest in peace.

DJ and I met 40 years ago as we entered nursing school together and have remained friends all these years sharing fun times and sad and hard times. We shared a love of earrings and books. One of DJ's great joys was reading. She loved music, especially J. Joplin. I know she loved her family and took joy in being with Journey and Spencer. I know I will miss the fun loving DJ I once knew.

I had the honor of being a student of Ms. Strunk'sfor Psych. She was a wonderful human being who gave much to the world. She will be missed by many. May her family find comfort and peace.

I met DJ when I started work at Peninsula Hospital 12 years ago.  DJ had a special knack with those psych patients.  She could always reach them when no one else could.  DJ was smart,  funny, compassionate and a wealth of psych nursing knowledge.  I thoroughly enjoyed working with DJ and I learned a lot from her back then. I was so sorry to hear about her passing and I know she's now with God and in a much better place.  My sincere condolences to her family.  Be at peace, DJ.

I am really sad about Donna's passing. I have a lot of great childhood memories of her.

Found out my sweet cousin Donna Jean died last week. She loved animals and reading and the Outer Banks. She was a nurse for many years. She had the most unmistakable Tennessee accent and sing-songy voice that I just loved. I remember going grocery shopping with her at Becker Brothers when she visited New Castle. I also remember she collected the McDonald's toys, and Spiderman was her favorite, haha. I am sorry that it has been many years since I saw her. She always remembered us at Christmas with a card. Rest in peace.

DJ spoke often about the love she had for her family, she was the most caring person I have ever met.  My prayers that God comforts you in your time of sorrow.   I will miss her so much.    Kathy Bonilla

DJ was one of my nursing instructors at LMU over 4 years ago. I always enjoyed her class and clinicals. She will be missed.

I worked with DJ for 7 years at Peninsula Hospital and when I decided to further my career she was my psych instructor at LMU. She was such a kind and compassionate woman. I was always envious of her knowledge. She was so very intelligent and her patients loved her. She will be dearly missed by all. Her family and friends are in my prayers.

Ms. Strunk was my teacher at LMU this semester. This was such a shock to us all. Her spirit and passion for humanity and the field of nursing will live on, may God give her friends and family peace during this difficult time.

Donna was my dear friend. My heart is breaking. She was an amazing, incredible person. She will stay in my heart forever, and I'll miss her very, very much. My thoughts and prayers are with Joe and Shelia and her entire family. Rest in peace, sweet Donna.
