Doris Eleanor Grubb King

Doris Grubb King, age 89, passed away peacefully November 23, 2022. She was a lifetime resident of South Knox county except for the last few years in Powell at Parkview Senior Living. She was a third generation lifetime member of Vestal United Methodist Church and a graduate of Young High School. Most of her working time was in the insurance business and after retirement went back to work part time at New Hopewell Baptist Church as church secretary. Preceded in death by parents, Earl and Anne Grubb and son, Robert King; husband, Lewis; brothers, Ross and Singleton Grubb, Raymond Grubb, Lennis and Ruby Grubb; sister, Audrey and Conner Burnette. Her greatest joy was to be called Mamaw and was greatly loved and will be missed.

Doris is survived by son, Andy and special wife, Jennifer; wonderful grandchildren, Mary Beth Payne and husband Cameron and Mason King; nephew Steve Grubb and family; special nieces and families including Connie B. Hilton, Nikki Burnette and Sara McNamara.

Family and friends will meet Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 11 am for graveside services at Berry Highland South Cemetery. Rev. Don Wilson officiating. Arrangements by Berry Highland South Funeral Home, 9010 E. Simpson Road, Knoxville, TN.
