PAPPAS, EDWARD GEORGE "ED" - age 89, of Knoxville, passed away Friday, July 29, 2011 at Shannondale Nursing Home. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. He was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army; retired Supervising Chef from ARA and Burns Security; was an Honorary Kentucky Colonel. Ed will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Preceded in death by beloved wife, Edythe R. Pappas; parents, Pietro and Jessie Pappas; brothers, Don Pappas and Glen Pappas. He is survived by his son, Edward G. Pappas, Jr. and wife Kathleen; daughter, Karen M. Papas; grandchildren, Blaze E. Pappas, Michelle Evans, Jason and Amber Evans and Felica and Quinton Holloway; brothers and sisters-in-law, Max Pappas, Pete and Jan Pappas and Gene and Nedra Pappas; sisters, Francis Parker and Judy Comer, and several great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Services 5 to 7 Visitation Tuesday, 7 p.m. chapel service Rev.
