Frederick "Freddie" Richard Schnicke, age 80, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away peacefully at home Sunday, September 10, 2023. Freddie proudly retired serving our country for 30 years as a medic in the Army National Guard. He was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church. Freddie could often be seen working in his yard which he took great pride in.
He is preceded in death by late wife of 40 years, Roseanne Beckner Schnicke; son, Dennis Lee Schnicke; father, Richard "Dick" Austin Schnicke and mother, Florence Monday Savely.
Freddie is survived by wife of 10 years, Rosa Lee Schnicke; son, Freddie "Richard" Schnicke; daughters: Angela K. Schnicke, Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Schnicke; step-daughter, Kimberly Hodges (Frank); step-son, Danny Bales (Tina); several grandchildren; brother, Tommy Schnicke (Connie); sisters: Ann Dunford, Darlene Abbott (Paul) and several other extended family members.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful care provided by UT Hospice.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 14, 2023, between the hours of 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the chapel of McCarty Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Asheville Hwy, Knoxville with a service to follow at 7:00 PM officiated by Rev. Mike Vincent and Rev. Tom Miller. Family and friends will meet Friday, September 15, 2023 at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, Gov. John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville for a committal service beginning at 8:30 AM.
