Geneveive Y. Watts

Geneveive Y. Watts, born on February 24,1949, was received in the arms of her Lord and Savior on November 18, 2025, while at NHC Fort Sanders after a long and hard battle with cancer. She was a loving wife and mother. She was an active member of Berea Baptist Church of Knoxville and had a strong faith in Jesus that she loved to share. A cherished friend to so many, loved and respected by all who knew her. Her family cherished and respected her, even her in-laws felt she was one of the family and cherished her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dan R. Watts Sr.; parents, William Theodore Young, and Hazel Young and brothers, Ted and Ed Young.

Survived by daughter, Rebecca Ann Watts and son, Danny R. Watts Jr.; sisters, Frances and Lowell (deceased) Eddleman, Vivian and Jim (deceased) Gibson, Irene and Terry (deceased) Murphy; brothers, Howard and Judy Young, Gene and Maggie Young. She is also survived by many of her late husband, Dan’s family who she called her own and loved and adored. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and other friends and family that loved and adored her.

The family wishes to extend a special Thank You to Dr. John Cooper MD, Dr. Matthew Edwards DO, Dr Susan Newman, Dr. James Lewis, UT Medical Center, UT Hospice, and NHC Fort Sanders for the wonderful care, and compassion and went above and beyond to not only care and treat our mom.

This is a great loss to so many family members but a great rejoicing as she is at home and at peace in Heaven.

Receiving of friends and family will be held at Berry Highland Memorial, located at 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919, on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. with a funeral service to follow, officiated by Pastor Mike Napier. Genevieve will be laid to rest next to her husband, Dan R. Watts Sr. following services.
