Murphy, George, age 86. Mr. Murphy was a veteran of WWII (USCG) aboard the USS Rickets Destroyer Convoy Escort North Atlantic 1943-1945, and a member of Broadway Baptist Church. He is survived by wife of 60 years, Vivian; sister, Wilma Murphy; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 2, 2011 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m., Pastor Tim Turley officiating.
