She was a long-time member of Galilee Baptist Church. A devoted and adoring Mother, Nanny,
Great-Nanny and Great-Great Nanny. She enjoyed her trips to the mountains with her son, David. She lived to love the Lord and care for her family. Georgia gathered her strength and perseverance from her daily morning devotions and quite time.
She was preceded in death by husband; Cowan Houser; daughter, Brenda Faye Allison; son, Terry Houser; parents, William and Vada Longmire, and brother, Fred Longmire.
She is survived by son, David Houser (Vicky); sister, June Tharp; brother, Danny Longmire (Debbie); son-in-law, Hugh Allison; sister-in-law, Shirley Longmire; 8 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville with a funeral service to follow officiated by Pastors Danny Neal and Robin Thames. Family and friends will meet Friday, June 25, 2021 at Galilee Baptist Church Cemetery, 8606 Pickens Gap Road, Knoxville for a 2:00pm Interment Service. Georgia's grandsons will serve as her pallbearers. The funeral service will be live-streamed on Facebook and may be viewed on Berry Funeral Home's page.
