Glenda Sue Jones passed away on March 1, 2026, at the age of 77. She graduated from Young High School in 1967. She was a stay-at-home mom for many years raising her daughters she loved so much, Shelly and Kathy. She later retired from Knox County Schools as the guidance secretary at South-Doyle High School. During retirement, she enjoyed spending days with her special favorite feline, Tucker. Even while battling multiple medical conditions, Sue always made time for Tucker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Robert Bean and Maxine Mable Cooper Bean; daughter, Michelle Lynn Jones.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Lynn Jones; daughter, Kathrine Courtney Jones; sister, Sandy Siers (George); brothers, Jim (Jeanne), Bill Bean, and Mike Bean; close cousin, Linda Bean; nephews, Jeremy Michael Bean, Coy Bean, Jeremy Scott Bean, and Sean Siers.
A call at convenience will be held at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Family and friends will gather for a graveside service at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919, on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
