James "Jimmy" Charles Harrison

James Charles Harrison, age 78, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025. He was born October 16, 1946. He graduated from Powell High School in 1964 and married his high school sweetheart Sandra Irwin. Jimmy worked as an asbestos worker at TVA for 25 years. He loved Boating, camping and spending time on the lake with his family. He enjoyed taking part in IDPA target shooting. He loved helping people, no task was too big or small for Jimmy to handle.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Sandra Harrison; and his parents, Frank and Margaret Harrison.

Left to cherish his memory, sons, Scott (Marcie) Harrison and Andy (Anneliese) Harrison; granddaughter, Ashton (Josh) Strange; grandson, Dalton (Daelin) Harrison; great-grandson, Bishop Strange; and great-granddaughter, Miller Strange, expected August 2025.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff in the ICU at UT Medical Center and Jimmy’s friend, Sara Cates for their exceptional care.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Berry Highland West, 9913 Sherrill Blvd, Knoxville, TN 37932. Family and friends will meet for a graveside service at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 22, 2025 in Berry Highland West Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jimmy’s name to Norwood Elementary School at 809 East Tri County Blvd, Oliver Springs, TN 37840.
